AKTIV ALU
Eurovent® AKTIV ALU is a three-layer metallised vapour control membrane. It consists of a metallised layer, a functional film and a polypropylene nonwoven layer. The metallised layer reflects thermal radiation back towards the interior of the building. The membrane limits water vapour migration into the thermal insulation and reduces the risk of moisture condensation within the structure.
Also available on request with two self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® AKTIV ALU vapour control membrane is designed for use in residential and industrial construction, in both roof and wall structures. It limits water vapour migration from inside the building into the thermal insulation, reducing the risk of condensation and moisture accumulation in structural elements. The metallised layer reflects thermal radiation back towards the interior of the building.
During installation, membrane overlaps should be sealed with Eurovent® ALUFIX or Eurovent® DUO, while connections with roof or wall structural elements should be sealed with Eurovent® ALUFIX or Eurovent® UNO. All membrane penetrations should also be carefully sealed. According to the technical data sheet, the membrane must be protected from daylight and UV radiation within a maximum of 4 weeks after installation.

System products
For correct and airtight installation of Eurovent® AKTIV ALU, the following system products should be used:
- Eurovent® ALUFIX or Eurovent® DUO for airtight sealing of membrane overlaps,
- Eurovent® ALUFIX or Eurovent® UNO for sealing connections with roof or wall structural elements,
- Eurovent® sealing tapes for sealing membrane penetrations and any damaged areas.
Proper sealing of overlaps, connections and penetration points helps maintain the continuity of the vapour control layer and limits moisture migration into the thermal insulation

Why does AKTIV ALU have a metallised surface?
The metallised layer can reflect thermal radiation. The actual effect depends on installation and the layer build-up, so the membrane should not be treated as a substitute for thermal insulation.
Is AKTIV ALU a vapour-tight foil?
It has higher vapour resistance than typical active membranes with low Sd, but the product must be used according to its specific parameters and the assembly design.
Should the metallised surface face the room?
The product must be oriented in accordance with the current installation instructions. This is particularly important for the performance of the reflective layer.
Does AKTIV ALU replace mineral wool or other thermal insulation?
No. The reflective layer can complement the thermal build-up but does not replace the required thermal insulation.
How should the overlaps of a metallised membrane be taped?
Use compatible tapes intended for airtight joining of vapour control layers, in accordance with current Eurovent® recommendations.
