CLIMA X

The reinforced active vapour control layer Eurovent® CLIMA X is a three-layer product reinforced with PE mesh and featuring a variable Sd value. It consists of a PP nonwoven layer, a special functional film and PE reinforcement mesh. The functional film allows small amounts of water vapour to migrate from inside the building towards the attic and, when required, from the attic back towards the interior, giving the product its active vapour control properties. The reinforced active vapour control layer Eurovent® CLIMA X has been certified by the Passive House Institute in airtightness class phA.

Can be manufactured to order in a version with two integrated self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Advantages:

  • Certified Passive House component
  • Active vapour control layer
  • Variable Sd value
  • Tear-resistant
  • Fast and easy installation

Application and Technical Data

The reinforced active vapour control layer Eurovent® CLIMA X is used in residential, industrial and timber-frame construction as an active vapour control layer protecting thermal insulation against excessive moisture transfer from inside the building. It is designed for roof and wall constructions. Thanks to its variable Sd value and active vapour control properties, it enables controlled water vapour migration and helps reduce the risk of condensation, mould and fungal growth, as well as the so-called “plastic bag effect”. During installation, the double-sided Eurovent® DUO tape is recommended for preliminary fixing of the vapour control layer to the structure and preparation of subsequent overlaps. The system sealing tape Eurovent® UNISAN or Eurovent® FAST should be used for airtight sealing of overlaps and connections to wall or attic structural elements. Perimeter connections between the vapour control layer and walls should additionally be sealed with the system sealing compound Eurovent® MULTI.

Eurovent® CLIMA X, together with the system products Eurovent® UNISAN, Eurovent® HYDRAL and Eurovent® MULTI, forms a Passive House Institute-certified airtightness system in class phA. Eurovent® system solutions meet the stringent requirements for components used in modern Passive House construction, provide a high level of airtightness, effective water vapour control and durable connections, helping to maintain stable building-envelope performance in low-energy and Passive House buildings.

System products

In order to ensure maximum performance of the CLIMA X roof membrane, it should be used in combination with:

  • Eurovent® sealing and adhesive tapes, which increase the tightness of overlaps and the durability of installation joints,
  • Eurovent® ventilation accessories, supporting proper air flow and reducing the risk of condensation within the roof structure,
  • Eurovent® eaves system components, ensuring effective water drainage and continuous air intake into the ventilation layer,
  • Eurovent® roof clips, stabilising the roof covering and increasing the roof slope resistance to snow and wind loads.

The use of complete Eurovent® system solutions guarantees high membrane durability, effective protection of the roof structure and reliable performance of the entire system for many years.
