CLIMA X
Eurovent® CLIMA X is a three-layer active vapour control membrane with a variable Sd value, reinforced with a PE mesh. It consists of a PP nonwoven layer, a special functional film and a PE reinforcing mesh. The functional film enables controlled migration of small amounts of water vapour from inside the building towards the structure and, when required by the conditions, also in the opposite direction. This allows the membrane to actively support water vapour control and the drying process of the structure.
Eurovent® CLIMA X has been certified by the Passive House Institute in airtightness class phA.
Available on request with two self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® CLIMA X is used in residential, industrial and timber-frame construction as an active vapour control layer protecting thermal insulation against excessive moisture migration from inside the building. It is designed for use in roof and wall structures.
Thanks to its variable Sd value and active vapour control properties, it enables controlled water vapour migration, supports the drying process of the structure and reduces the risk of condensation, mould and fungal growth as well as excessive moisture accumulation in structural elements.
During installation, double-sided Eurovent® DUO tape is recommended for preliminary fixing of the membrane to the structure and preparation of subsequent overlaps. Eurovent® UNISAN or Eurovent® FAST system sealing tape should be used for airtight sealing of membrane overlaps and connections with wall or roof structural elements. Perimeter connections between the membrane and walls should additionally be sealed with Eurovent® MULTI system sealing compound.
Eurovent® CLIMA X, together with Eurovent® UNISAN, Eurovent® HYDRAL and Eurovent® MULTI, forms a phA airtightness system certified by the Passive House Institute. Eurovent® system solutions meet the requirements for components used in modern passive construction, providing high airtightness, effective water vapour control and durable connections while supporting stable performance of structures in low-energy and passive buildings.

For proper and airtight performance of the Eurovent® CLIMA X vapour control membrane, it is recommended to use it together with:
- Eurovent® DUO for preliminary fixing of the membrane and preparation of overlaps,
- Eurovent® UNISAN or Eurovent® FAST for airtight sealing of overlaps and connections with structural elements,
- Eurovent® MULTI for airtight perimeter connections between the membrane and walls or other building elements,
- Eurovent® HYDRAL, as a component of the airtightness system certified by the Passive House Institute,
- highly vapour-permeable Eurovent® roof membranes, supporting moisture evacuation from the roof structure to the outside,
- Eurovent® windproof membranes, providing an external protective layer in wall structures.
Using compatible Eurovent® system solutions helps create an airtight and durable layer system and supports proper water vapour control and moisture evacuation from the structure.

Why does CLIMA X have a reinforcing mesh?
The PE mesh increases the membrane’s tensile and tear resistance. This is particularly useful during installation and in constructions where the membrane may be subjected to greater mechanical stress.
What does Passive House Institute certification mean?
CLIMA X is a certified component of an appropriate airtightness system. This does not automatically mean that using the membrane alone makes a building a passive house.
Does CLIMA X have a variable Sd value?
Yes. Its functional film allows diffusion properties to change within a specified range depending on the conditions.
When can reinforcement be particularly useful?
For example, during intensive installation work and where greater resistance to accidental damage is required.
What else is needed alongside CLIMA X to create an airtight layer?
System tapes for overlaps and penetrations, suitable perimeter sealing and careful execution of all details.
