CLIMA
Eurovent® CLIMA is a two-layer active vapour control membrane with a variable Sd value. It consists of a polypropylene nonwoven layer and a special functional film that enables controlled migration of small amounts of water vapour from inside the building towards the structure and, when required by the conditions, also in the opposite direction. The variable Sd value allows the membrane to adapt its properties to changing humidity conditions, supporting the drying process of the structure and reducing the risk of excessive moisture accumulation.
Available on request with two self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® CLIMA is used in residential and industrial construction, including timber-frame buildings, as a layer regulating water vapour flow and protecting thermal insulation against excessive moisture migration from inside the building. It is designed for use in roof and wall structures. Thanks to its variable Sd value and active properties, it supports the drying process of the structure, reducing the risk of condensation, mould and fungal growth as well as moisture accumulation in structural elements.
During installation, Eurovent® DUO is recommended for sealing membrane overlaps and Eurovent® UNO for sealing connections with structural elements.

For proper and airtight performance of the Eurovent® CLIMA vapour control membrane, it is recommended to use it together with:
- Eurovent® DUO and Eurovent® UNO, enabling durable and airtight sealing of membrane overlaps and connections with structural elements,
- highly vapour-permeable Eurovent® roof membranes, supporting moisture evacuation from the roof structure to the outside,
- Eurovent® windproof membranes, providing an external protective layer in wall structures and supporting proper moisture evacuation from the wall build-up.
Using compatible Eurovent® system solutions helps create an airtight and durable layer system and supports proper water vapour control and moisture evacuation from the structure.

How does CLIMA differ from a conventional vapour control foil?
It is an active membrane with a variable Sd value rather than a homogeneous PE foil with fixed, high vapour resistance.
Does CLIMA “release moisture” from the construction?
It can support drying of the assembly under suitable conditions, but it should not be treated as a dehumidifying device. The behaviour of the construction is determined by the complete build-up of layers.
Which construction methods can CLIMA be used in?
These include traditional and timber-frame construction, provided the membrane parameters are correctly matched to the assembly.
Why are airtight overlaps important?
Even a correctly selected Sd value will not help if moist air can flow freely through leaks. Diffusion and air movement are two different phenomena.
Is CLIMA available in a 3 m width?
The current range also includes a wide roll option, which can reduce the number of overlaps over large areas.
