Foundation membrane
GEO 8
The embossed, waterproof foundation membrane is made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with a thickness of 0.4–0.8 mm. It is designed for waterproofing and drainage systems, retaining walls and foundation walls, floor slabs, sealing drainage trenches and channels, as well as for use as a protective layer against mechanical damage to waterproofing layers.
Available in weights: 400, 500 and 600 g.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® GEO 8 foundation membrane is suitable for vertical damp-proofing of foundation walls. It creates an effective protective barrier against groundwater, moisture and plant roots. Thanks to its embossed structure, it also functions as a drainage and ventilation layer, supporting moisture removal and helping to equalise hydrostatic pressure.
It is also suitable for horizontal insulation on terraces and balconies, protecting structural layers against moisture, mechanical damage and capillary moisture.

What does GEO 8 do against a foundation wall?
It primarily protects the insulation layers from mechanical damage and separates them from the soil. In an appropriately designed system, the studs can also create a space that supports drainage.
Is GEO 8 foundation waterproofing?
It should not be treated as a substitute for proper waterproofing. The damp-proofing or waterproofing layer must be installed in accordance with the design.
Can GEO 8 be used on terraces and balconies?
Yes, in horizontal protection and drainage build-ups where specified by the structural design and drainage arrangement.
What does a stud height of around 8 mm mean?
It defines the space created by the profiled membrane. GEO 8 provides a smaller drainage space than GEO 20.
Is a thicker GEO 8 version always better?
No. The available versions have different mechanical properties, and selection must follow the loads and requirements of the particular construction.
