CLIMA 18
Eurovent® CLIMA 18 is a two-layer vapour control membrane with an increased Sd value. It consists of a polypropylene nonwoven layer and a special functional film. The functional film enables controlled migration of small amounts of water vapour from inside the building towards the structure and, when required by the conditions, also in the opposite direction, giving the membrane active vapour control properties.
The membrane is available on request with two self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® CLIMA 18 is used as a vapour control layer protecting the thermal insulation of roofs and walls against excessive moisture migration from inside the building. Its properties support appropriate moisture conditions within the structure and reduce the risk of condensation, mould and fungal growth as well as moisture accumulation in structural elements.
Eurovent® CLIMA 18 is recommended for both residential and industrial construction. It is suitable for a wide range of construction technologies, including prefabricated, modular, CLT, timber-frame and traditional construction.
During installation of Eurovent® CLIMA 18, Eurovent® UNISAN and Eurovent® DUO tapes are recommended for airtight sealing of membrane overlaps, while Eurovent® UNO tape is recommended for sealing connections with structural elements.

For proper and airtight performance of the Eurovent® CLIMA 18 vapour control membrane, it is recommended to use it together with:
- Eurovent® UNISAN and Eurovent® DUO for durable and airtight sealing of membrane overlaps,
- Eurovent® UNO for sealing connections between the membrane and structural elements,
- highly vapour-permeable Eurovent® roof membranes, supporting moisture evacuation from the roof structure to the outside,
- Eurovent® windproof membranes, providing an external protective layer in wall structures and supporting moisture evacuation from the wall build-up.
Using compatible Eurovent® system solutions helps create an airtight and durable layer system and supports proper water vapour control and moisture evacuation from the structure.
GOOD TO KNOW
What does the higher Sd value of CLIMA 18 mean?
The membrane offers greater resistance to water vapour diffusion than products with a lower Sd value. This does not mean that it is the right choice for every assembly.
Why does CLIMA 18 still have a functional film?
The film enables controlled membrane performance while providing a higher level of restriction to vapour flow.
Where can CLIMA 18 be used?
In roofs and walls where the assembly design requires a vapour control layer with this level of diffusion resistance.
CLIMA 18 or CLIMA 2?
This is not a question of one being better or worse. The two products have different diffusion properties and should be selected to suit the specific build-up of layers.
Is SYSTEM SK2 available?
Yes. The product can be manufactured with two integrated self-adhesive strips.
