BITUMI
The Eurovent® BITUMI, a waterproof, bitumen roof membrane, can be used as a pre-covering for sloping roofs with full sarking. It is ideal to be applied under roof coverings made of bituminous shingles, bituminous tiles, slate and wooden shingle. Available as an option with 2 self-adhesive tapes - SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
The Eurovent® BITUMI roof membrane is used as an underlay for pitched, ventilated roofs with full boarding. It is ideally suited for roof coverings made of bituminous shingles, bitumen tiles, roofing slate and wooden shingles. Installation of the final roof covering on the membrane can be carried out without the use of battens and counter-battens.
Maintain an unobstructed ventilation gap of at least 5 cm between the membrane and the thermal insulation; the membrane must not be in direct contact with the insulation. Water vapour transmission according to the technical data sheet: approx. 0.5 g/m²/24 h.

In order to achieve maximum durability and full functionality, Eurovent® BITUMI should be used in combination with:
- Eurovent® sealing and adhesive tapes
- Compatible ventilation accessories (ridge tapes, ventilation chimneys)
- Eurovent® system vapour control membranes and wind barrier membranes
The use of complete Eurovent® system solutions increases the durability and energy efficiency of the entire roof.

What coverings is Eurovent® BITUMI designed for?
It is a bituminous roofing membrane intended mainly for bitumen shingles, bituminous tiles, slate and wooden shingles. It is used in roof systems that require a tight layer over a continuous substrate.
Does BITUMI require full sarking?
Yes. It is intended for roofs with continuous timber decking, which provides a stable substrate for both the membrane and the final covering.
Are battens and counter-battens always required?
No. If the final covering system permits direct installation on the prepared substrate, battens and counter-battens may not be necessary.
Is BITUMI highly vapour-permeable?
No. It has high vapour diffusion resistance and performs a different function from a conventional highly vapour-permeable membrane.
What does SYSTEM SK2 provide?
Two integrated adhesive strips allow tight overlap bonding and help create a continuous layer over the full sarking.
