AKTIV
Eurovent® AKTIV is a two-layer active vapour control membrane. It consists of a polypropylene nonwoven layer and a special functional film that enables controlled migration of small amounts of water vapour from inside the building towards the structure and, when required by the conditions, in the opposite direction. The active properties of the membrane support the drying process of the construction and reduce the risk of excessive moisture accumulation.
Available on request with 2 self-adhesive strips – SYSTEM SK2.

Application and Technical Data
Eurovent® AKTIV is used in residential and industrial construction as a vapour control layer protecting the thermal insulation of roofs, ceilings and walls against excessive moisture migration from inside the building. Thanks to its active properties, it supports the drying process of the construction, reducing the risk of condensation, mould and fungal growth as well as moisture accumulation in structural elements.
Eurovent® AKTIV is suitable for traditional, prefabricated and timber-frame construction. During installation, Eurovent® UNISAN, Eurovent® DUO and Eurovent® MULTI SEAL products are recommended for airtight sealing of membrane overlaps and connections with structural elements, depending on the type of detail.

For proper and airtight performance of the Eurovent® AKTIV vapour control membrane, it is recommended to use it together with:
- Eurovent® UNISAN, Eurovent® DUO and Eurovent® MULTI SEAL, enabling durable and airtight sealing of overlaps and connections with structural elements,
- highly vapour-permeable Eurovent® roof membranes, supporting moisture evacuation from the roof structure to the outside,
- Eurovent® windproof membranes, providing an external protective layer in wall structures and supporting proper moisture evacuation from the wall build-up.
Using compatible Eurovent® system solutions helps create an airtight and durable layer system and supports proper water vapour control and moisture evacuation from the structure.

What makes the AKTIV membrane “active”?
Its functional film responds to humidity conditions and allows the membrane to operate in a controlled way within a specified Sd range. This does not mean that the membrane replaces proper ventilation or correct assembly design.
Why can a variable Sd value be beneficial?
It can help limit moisture entering the assembly and, under suitable conditions, also support drying. Its effectiveness depends on all the layers of the construction.
Can AKTIV be used in walls?
Yes. The product is intended for roof, ceiling and wall assemblies where it meets the requirements of the particular construction.
Can AKTIV be installed directly next to thermal insulation?
Installation should follow the design and the current product instructions. Maintaining continuity of the vapour control layer is essential.
What does SYSTEM SK2 offer?
Two integrated self-adhesive strips make it easier to form airtight overlaps during installation.
