What is class BG1?

BG1 (German: Beanspruchungsgruppe 1) is defined in DIN 18542, which specifies the technical properties of pre-compressed joint sealing tapes used in façades, prefabricated structures, window installation joints and movement joints. BG1 tapes provide a high level of sealing performance, including resistance to driving rain at a pressure of at least 600 Pa. They are suitable for exposed external joints and do not require an additional protective cover after installation, thanks to their resistance to UV radiation, rain and temperature changes.
